Palletizing canisters: robot for the chemical sector

The customer is a leading English company in the chemical sector, with over 50 years of experience, that needs to palletize canisters coming off its filling line.

The project, won through our agent operating in England, stands out both for the high output required and for the variety of products to handle.

The canister palletizing line

The canisters to be palletized contain chemical products and come in four formats: 5, 10, 25 and 30 litres. Output varies with capacity and reaches up to 16 products per minute for the smaller formats. Each product is arranged in different patterns depending on the pallet, handled in EURO, CHEP and 1040x1040 mm formats.

The operator changes the palletizing recipe with a few simple inputs on the control panel, thanks to a highly intuitive interface programmed by Europack.

The product arrives directly from the filling line on a motorized belt conveyor and is prepared for palletizing by a series of pneumatic devices that compact or separate the canisters according to the arrangement pattern on the pallet. The robot, a Winner 600 GREEN, is fitted with a custom gripper head suited to canisters, in both single and double picking, adapting to the various formats. The same head integrates a suction-cup system that automatically handles the non-slip paper sheet to be placed on the empty pallet.

The pallet, in its various formats, is handled automatically by a dispenser and reaches the palletizing area via a rotary platform, forming a 90° angle. Right after palletizing, a pallet wrapping line follows with an automatic rotary table, complete with an upper dustproof sheet feeder. Everything is integrated and connected by Europack, with no need for other intermediaries.
