How we managed to create a user-friendly interface 

Behind a palletising automation system there is a large amount of data concerning both the parameters and features required by the customer and how to handle them in the most flexible way. This mass of data, by its very nature, is not aimed at the end-operator, who, in order to be able to work efficiently and easily with palletising, needs an easy and intuitive interface. This is why we have transformed a long list of parameters into a list of intuitive, graphical functions, thus facilitating those who have to interact with our applications on a daily basis.

 This has led to a series of simplifications that can be summarised as follows:

  1. Management of product-dependent parameterisation: recipes for a palletising system are easily copied and modified, facilitating the introduction of variants or changes. It is therefore sufficient to copy an existing recipe and modify it as required, without having to create it from scratch.
  2. Palletising schemes: already with our entry-level interface, schemes can be modified intuitively. With the most advanced graphic interface we can offer, you can create new patterns / modify existing ones with an intuitive visualisation of the product on the pallet.
  3. If a pattern includes, as is often the case, specular planes, these can be generated automatically by the interface, making the operator's job much easier.
  4. Statistical production reports can be generated directly on the display, broken down by recipes or by time periods of up to one year, for quick and detailed control of produced and palletised batches.
  5. Alarms: it is possible to obtain a history of the plant's alarms to identify any problems and resolve them.
  6. System backup: upon completion of testing at the customer's premises, we perform a complete system backup (parameters, recipes, etc.) that we can use to restore the plant in the event of unforeseen problems.
  7. Checkweighing: the interface is set up to be able to manage a checkweighing system and possibly discard unsuitable packaging.
  8. Interface language: we offer 10 languages pre-loaded in our palletising systems, with the possibility of changing the language easily if necessary.
  9. All these user-friendly features developed for our own robots have also been transferred to our plants using ABB industrial robots.

 Europack has always been dedicated to developing only palletising plants, continuously improving the process and solving the problems that have arisen. In 25 years of evolution, we have dedicated ourselves to making the operator interface clearer and easier, with some features not only standard equipment on all plants, but also easily manageable by non-specialist operators, such as:

  •  Management functions for pallet handling, inter-layer and bag presser easily excluded, even for a single pallet in the production flow
  • Self-adjustment of the robot speed according to the required cadences, for greater energy savings, optimal management of incoming accumulations and greater durability and reliability of the entire system.
  • Predictive maintenance communicated from the interface to the operator, with a logic similar to that of the automotive sector (e.g.: type A or B maintenance is required; type C with procurement of the necessary materials and date fixed with our technicians, etc.).

The ease of operation of our palletising systems, the safety, the convenience of the non-technical operator and the efficiency of our machines over many years of continuous use are our top priorities and will always remain so.
